Hey guys, was cruising through some youtube vids of F-117's and found one posted from a few months ago stating that they shot a F-117 flying at Nellis back in July of 2010. So my question is, are we keeping them in reserve status or maybe defense research?? Here is the vid:

If they are indeed still flying, my guesses (from most likely on down...):
1. Radar range calibration supporting F-35 testing
2. Stealth coating research
3. Quick-n-dirty UCAS conversion test |

There's always important data that even retired vehicles can provide. GTG, I'd imagine that one of your first two guesses is somewhere close to what they are doing with the birds.
Fact of the matter, is that the surviving fleet of -117s is sitting in a climate controlled hangar at Tonopah. Only one was scrapped and that was at Palmdale. |
