I was just wondering about something.. is it normal that EFTs goes off with pylons attached to it?..

The wing tanks will come off with the pylon and the centerline tank will come off without the pylon.

I think the early 370's had non-jettisonable fuel pylons. I'm not sure when the jettisonable fuel pylon came along.

Been around at least since the late 80s. On the OCU sims I worked on back then, I seem to recall that you could SEL JETT either the entire pylon/tank assembly or just the tank. EMER STORES JETT defaulted to the pylon. I think that's gotten carried thru to later blocks.

I know that in the RNLAF the Pylon (wing) tanks will always jettison with the pylon and the Centerline will only go without (ctl pylon can't be jettisoned)
