| Is there any Feet Per Minute (climb/descend) indication on HUD? I know there is a ribbon gauge below but not on HUD. |

The pilot can choose whether he would like FPM displayed in the HUD or not. On the Hud remote control panel forward on the left console you can select different settings for the HUD. If you chooses VV/VAH on the top inboard switch, you get a vertical velocity scale in the HUD showing FPM. You willl also get a bank angle indicator over the FPM instead of the normal roll indicator in the bottom of the HUD. The vertical velocity is shown as a triangle pointing at the crurrent VV in a staple with every 500 FPM shown as tick marks.
I think most pilots fly with only VAH selected, that's at least my choice when I'm flying tactically, only time I've ever flown with VV/VAH was during initial instument training, but it just cluggers up the HUD too much, especially with the bank angle indicator over the FPM.
Hope this was understandable |

I thought the HUD RCP was on the right console?

Of course you are right I was thinking about the switch to the left on the panel, and I mistyped, sorry about the mistake, good to have people watching and correcting things like that! |
