| They started PCS'ing guys in to set up the RTU / RAG some time ago, with the expectation that F-35s were on the way. Obviously it's going to be quite some time before the pilots and maintainers get to start playing with actual aircraft, much less training students. Rather than PCS them all back out, they're giving them some F-16s to stay awake and keep current. The guys that got to Eglin in 2009 for a 3-year tour will probably have their golf handicap way down, and their suntans way up, by the time they leave this year. |
