Hi All,
New to posting on this site, I've visited often and loved it so much, so well done to all posters and to the mods!!!
My questions refer to the F-16BM (MLU) and I was rather hoping you could help me out with some research for a project in 1/48.
I would like to build an accurate model (rivet counter) and have some queries that elude me and my references.
Start with Kinetic F-16A/B and modify tail to the extended parabrake and thin root.
I know the droop on the nose is poor but without a Tamiya B/D version Kinetic it has to be.
1) MLU seats - ACES II - woollen sheepskin covers in black OR not? Can't find any cockpit pictures at all. Seat and Backrest?
2) Bulges on wing roots - I believe REMOVE (correct?)
3) Rescribe panels at rear, next to thin base tailplane. Any chance of some close up pictures to the correct panel lines?
Thank you all in advance.

Be forewarned:
If you are starting off with the Kinetic kit, you’re already setting yourself back as the Kinetic F-16s have some major shape and fit issues. It is also important to know exactly what Kinetic F-16A/B kit you are using, as the original F-16AM kits have a horrible droop nose profile issue. Kinetic later half-way fixed the problem, but the upper nose slope is still off.
1) The ACES II are the same as any other F-16. There are no sheepskin covers, but there are sheepskin seat cushions and note that these NOT a standard as the original seat cushions are also in MLU jets.
2) No need to remove the wing root panel bulges on wing roots, if using the MLU F-16 kit. Kinetic retooled a different upper aft fuselage for the A/B/AM/BM kits.
3) There is no need to rescribe upper fuel saddle bay panels that perimeter the tail dorsal base as the Kinetic F-16AM kit; see # 2). However, it should be noted that Kinetic’s F-16A/AM small tail dorsal is grossly inaccurate. It’s way too wide; near as wide as the C model dorsal!
Pick up the DACO book for MLU references
One final note; Sierra Hotel Models will be releasing an F-16A backdate set (to include the cockpit) for the Tamiya F-16C kit later this year.
