It has been said in the past that its tough to get off bombers. During your upgrade training when you get to your first base (CDCs) you will learn about every aircraft that can carry a bomb, bullet, or missile. Once you get your 5 level, you can work on ANY of said aircraft. There is something to be said about a weapons guy who has a lot of time on one airframe, a guru. But take the opportunity to diversify, even within that. Get both flightline and backshop experience. Try out instructing, Load Barn, Weapons Academics, FTD, even Tech school. Do some time in QA. I've known many airmen who get bored with their job (and not just weapons guys, crew chiefs, etc) but don't realize the options they have to try something new.
Let me know if you have any other specific questions. |
