@ Link!
Viper: "I flew with your old man...VF-84 on the Nimitz. But, that was back when we flew in cockpits of manned fighters. Fighters, you ask?...Yeah, that was a type of aircraft we used to fly. They could go supersonic, were fully aerobatic and you actually were sitting in the plane as it flew. Pretty cool huh?...Outdated?! You little $h1tbird!" |

Mav: "Conducting public relations"
Goose: "You know - Rick-Rolling the guys flying the other RPA"
"You were in a 15-degree left bank with an enemy RPA? what was the distance??"
"My trailer was about 4500 miles away. Or did you mean from my RPA to the other one...?"
[Edited - thanks TC, there's a LOT of bs rumors at the zoo and i honestly thought they were kidding haha] |

I thought the MQ-9 was being flown by the (*EDITED*)
The Navy would probably have them use the F-35. |

Greek...The preferred nomenclature is "RPA". "UAV" is an archaic term.
Grinner...Re: the RPA users...Yes, the Navy is a player. Let's leave it at that.
And, at the risk of stating the clearly obvious, they will very likely use Super Bugs for this one. That is, if "Top Gun Part Deux" is ever made. F-35s would mean a one-seater, and you wouldn't get the PLT/WSO crew connection with a one-holer (so to speak), as you would with a sedan. |

| i read somewhere that the navy wants to pick them up more than USAF - cheaper than training carrier pilots. Can anyone confirm or....the opposite of "confirm" that? |

| RPAs are cheaper across the board. Less expensive than carrier ops, and definitely less expensive than the new Gucci pointy-nosed stuff that's out there, or trying to become operational. |
