How far can the APG 63 v3 Radar that was put into the F-15C's see a Fighter size target since the F-15C is scheduled to use the AMRAAM 120D? Is the APG 63 V3 anywhere close the capability of the APG-77 Since the F-15 is large is has the ability to have a big radar like the APG 77 so can it see fighter size targets at about the same range as the F-22? How are the "Golden Eagles" suppose to support the Raptor?

The APG-63 v3 <> anywhere close to a APG-77.

The T&R modules are at least a generation behind and it does not have anywhere near the processing power.

I believe one of the tasks for the Golden Eagles was to launch on targets that the F-22's were stealthily tracking.

I think it's the other way around. Golden Eagle emits and F-22 shoots.

Range specifics are always tricky. The best unclassified estimate that I have seen for the range of the APG-63(V)3 is 125 km in look-up and look-down mode for a high-aspect target. That's for a target with an RCS of 1 sq m. The equivalent figure for the APG-77 is reported as 185 km.

And I heard the APG-63(V)3 is even longer ranged than the APG-77 and somewhere close to the APG-77(V)1.

I've rechecked my original source material - that APG-77 figure I quoted was for the (V)1 version.

The APG-63(v)3 is supposed to be in the same class(range wise) as the -77, perhaps even longer ranged due to aperture size. It's the (v)2 that's a generation behind with regards to the T/R modules.
