| The final two F-15s left Langley on 3 Sept, bringing an end to 34 years of Eagle operations there. The last Eagle squadron at Langley, the 71st FS "Ironmen", a squadron which has been active almost continually since 1941, is scheduled to be deactivated on 30 September. |

I've updated this thread to reflect the latest update:
Today, the 95th FS "Boneheads" inactivated, and the last 3 F-15s departed Tyndall AFB, following a 27 year presence there. Then-Brig. Gen. Chuck Horner flew the first F-15 to Tyndall in December 1983, and the East Coast F-15 FTU stood up there in January of 1984. Tyndall eventually took over all F-15 FTU functions for the AF, which had previously been split ops with Luke AFB.
The final F-15s in the Active inventory in the CONUS are currently at Nellis. There are also some test birds currently flying at Edwards and Eglin. The Oregon ANG has taken over the FTU mission.
Congrats to the Boneheads, Tyndall, and ALL Eagle crews for your long and successful service! |

As far as CONUS Active Duty units, Nellis and Eglin have the Operational Test mission (ACC), and Nellis also has the Weapons and Aggressor squadrons, flying the Eagle. Then AFMC flies birds at Edwards and Eglin.
For frontline Eagles, Kadena and Lakenheath still fly the Charlies. The rest are State-side ANG birds. So, there's not too many places left to see them flying. |

Hey guys, Mountain Home will certainly be surprised to hear they don't have any F-15Cs to go along with their mud hens.
you can also add Elmendorf as losing its last F-15 |
