Hi
Is the 64AS beeing watered out, now that the 5 Block 42's are transferred to Luke AFB?
Seeing them replaced by block 25/32's just doesn't make sence?
Thought the 64AS was to be strengthened? |

It's a mystery? ... might have something to do with the Eagles they brought in a few years ago (65th) |

| Both the 64th and the 65th are to be brought up to 25 planes each (by the end of FY11), allowing them to go on the road to be able to train at other's home bases. It does make sense to give them older planes because they will never be deployed in a war mission. There are (were) only 6 Block 42s, only 1 (90-0740) of which I've seen since the end of Red Flag. |

Only one I have seen so far is 90-0751
SSgt. Troy Anderson, 56th EMS corrosion control apprentice, paints the letters 'LF' for Luke Field on the vertical tail of F-16C block 42 #90-0751, one of the five F-16s that arrived from Nellis AFB. These five F-16 'aggressor' jets arrived with a blue camouflage paint pattern to distinguish them as aggressor aircraft during exercises. The aircraft will be flown at Luke with the blue camouflage pattern until they come into corrosion control to be fully repainted within the next two months.

| So, I guess that explains all the F-15's with oddball or no tail flash lately. And the Duluth ANG blk 25's. |

| Unit markings are routinly removed before transfer to new unit. In some cases, there isn't time, or transfer orders come through when the jet is already at the new unit, hence it will take a little while. In cases like this, the old unit markings are usually quickly sprayed over (tailcodes) and replace with the new unit ones. |

| 90-0740 is still at Nellis flying missions today. if they were all Block 42s, that makes 88-0548, 89-2053, 89-2148, 90-727, and 90-0751 the 5 to Luke |
