| More than likely it's part of a PAF-specific embedded RWR/ECM suite. The blisters on either side of the drag chute fairing are probably associated with it. You see a similar type of gadget in the same place on other foreign Vipers (BAF, KLu, TuAF for ex.) equipped with customer-defined electronics packages. | If I remember correctly that is the low band transmit antenna and it is part of the AIDEWS. Oman, Chile and Poland all bought similar systems. If you look at the tail by the drag chute can you will see the two other transmit antennas (only one visible in the above pic). |
