Great event of historical significance!

As others have said, it is good to know that the "Sea" has launched off the emal and the computers didn't blink! The Naval Aviators in the pipeline have a great future to look forward to! Very Happy

The steam catapult is presently operating near its design limit of approximately 95 MJ. The EMALS has a delivered energy capability of 122 MJ, a 29% increase. Exclamation

With this great electrical power system, could future Ford Carriers (in their spare time, between CAT shots) become the future of naval artillery? Office of Naval Research set a world record by conducting a 33 MJ shot from their railgun on December 10, 2010 with Mach 5 velocity and 200 km range. Smile
