ONLY WHEN THE WINGS FALL OFF!
The Raptor is the first of the software a/c and will be upgraded cheaper than building any follow on a/c. The technology advances we learn from the Lightning will be retro-fitted or upgraded to the Raptor. With stealth, a gun and maneuverability even the "furball" addicts have to admit it's superiority. All the others can only wish to be flying a Raptor! Check6! |

When the F-35 becomes operational, thats why we cut the number of F-22's to 183. |

| The F-22 will become outdated if it's not capable to perform its task effectively anymore. By that time a more advanced and capable successor is likely to be fielded. |

Just to pull a date out of the air...2030/2040, possibly still operational then? |

error in my message, I mean 50 Su-35s hence they cant even make that mark for something that cost less than the F-22.
maybe the year 2080? |

48 Su-35S is the only first purchasing order for VVS, not the final number of operational aircraft that planned.

Really? How you know? |

theirs things I know you wont until possibly <50 years.
I meant in current service, not ordered. Still need 10 PAK FAs. I should have put 10 stealthy PAK FAs, and not meaning PAK FA that have small RCS if thats even going to be at least what they are. |

Can you please show us a source that talks about a larger buy than 48? I've yet to see one. |
