As said in the title, I'm Erik, from Holland, 42 years of age and an aviation fan all my life. Since the age of 10 also a scale modeler.
My father flew the F-104G Starfighter in the Dutch Air Force and was a member of the MOT&E at Hill AFB after the RNLAF purchased the F-16.
I have been considering the F-16 "one of those drab grey jets" for a long time, but the type has matured and rekindled my interest! Sorta like the F-4 [Link pending approval]
Aside from the plethora of color schemes ([Link pending approval]) the units flying them gave them color. Plus the contrast with an F-16A Block 1 and an F-16I Sufa with all it's warts, CFT's and stores is fantastic to see!
Cheers,
Erik. |

Welcome to the forum, Erik!
If you think the Sufa is loaded, you should see the UAE's version.

Nice!
You know … those CFT’s seem like they add to the structural integrity of the airframe!
Put them on and you possibly can save money without doing Falcon up/star odd looking braces all over the backbone.
I really fancy them Block 60's |

| F-16 with CFT looks better than an F-16 without CFT |

Adding 4,000 pounds of fuel and fuel tank to the backbone of anything is going to cause problems down the road. And they don't add structural intergity to the rest of the airframe. |

| CFT's also increase the drag, decrease AOA available i.e. G's. When you have a tanker fleet i wonder if it is really better to just not have em. im sure there are pro's and cons |
