First thing to do is hope they're not having an exercise! After you get your room, prob at the dorms and hope its your perm room, moving sucks there lol. You WILL run into people youve been either stationed with before or from basic, when I went last I found 20 something people I was at basic with getting there the same time, makes settling in really easy. As afets said yeah go "downtown" and enjoy your self al ittle bit, but remember where you parked your car (sts), looking for your room when your cranked up on soju isnt fun let me tell you lol. The first day will be long, mostly full of inprocessing as you will most likely have to report to work the next day. Inprocessing is pretty quick and efficient, not a pain in the a$$ like other bases. And you will be overwhelmed at the start but after a week, you'll start to relize how cool it is OH If and when they offer you a trip to the DMZ....TAKE IT! |

| Don't worry, you'll have a great time once you get settled and get use to the 'smells' you're not used to. I found the Korean people to be VERY nice (don't be the 'ugly American'). Take advantage of seeing the country if you can. I worked A-10s so the work was a breeze, not sure what you'll be working. I would love to go back as a civilian someday. Good luck. |

lol I got that coming home from Iraq, got back, we all started our 2 weeks and the flight chief called told me I had a new troop. 2 minutes later he called back and said "Oh yeah, and you need to do a referral EPR for him ASAP, he got a DUI in Korea and was arrested for stealing liquor from the club" |
