| Incorrect, it is a S210 AIM9 launcher. the LAU129 Daul Rail launcher. No 114 on F-16s. |

So, the 16S210 refers to an S210 launcher mounted to an F-16?
If it is known that the aircraft is an F-16, is saying 16S210 redundant?
Is there a 15S210?
Thanks for the help...I'm obviously not an armaments specialist.

| Nope the 15 uses different launchers. In fact they only have 2 mount bolts while the vipers have 3. The 16S210 is a "one off" launcher only made for viper. We call them AIM9 launchers and on rare occasions somebody might say 210, The LAU129 is a called well a 129. The Eagle and Beagle have a LAU128 which is wired and mounts differently. Though the missile retention system is pretty much exactly the same. They also used to use an old 114 derivative but very rarely. |

| We have an RIU that can be used in either S210 or LAU129 launchers and because we USAF don't use the Python line we don't need the newest RIUs that give that ability. |

This is not entirely true.
Pythin 4 may be mounted on 210, as you can see on the first two images images. The MRIU is a bit different though.
The last image shows Sufa, and on this image you can see the Python IV on LAU-129. It probably uses the same MRIU as on 210. |
