Well... in a news article I'm having a bit of trouble believing, a Russian Helicopter company has announced it's intentions to build a "5th Generation Helicopter".
It will apparently be designed with stealth or "radar invisibility", have the ability to fly at 370mph ( ) and...be able to combat fighter jets.

I wonder if the translation or Fox News confused KPH with MPH? Traditional helicopter rotor systems definitely cannot get anywhere near that.
Maybe with a co-axial rigid-blade rotor system like the Sikorsky S-69 had you could push 300 knots, that'd be the only way I'm aware of to get around retreating blade stall problems. |

Umm theoretical maximum is around 220 kts...
The current record is 217.5Kts, as held by the Westland Lynx.
