I'm looking for the colour scheme of Egyptian F-16's. Supper Scale's scheme show a very dark colour (American Scheme) but pictures that I saw show a much lighter scheme. Is there maybe another set of decals available for Egyptian F-16's please.

Thunderbird, which HobbyCraft kit? The 1:48 HobbyCraft kit I have seen (#1561) does not have Egyptian markings.

BTW the HobbyCraft kit is a poor copy of the Tamiya molds.

I saw on Hobby Craft's site that they got an F-16 and in brackets it said Egypt. I gathered that it will have Egypt decals. I know there models is not up to scratch but I will purchase it if it got the correct colour scheme and decals for Egypt. Give the model to my nephew with a spare set of US decals. I got the Super Scale Decals but the colour scheme is wrong.

OK then that is a different release. Just a word of caution - on the HobbyCraft 1651 kit that I have the markings were printed on the backing paper with no carrier film!!! They were also very poor copies of the decals from the first Hasegawa 1:48 kit (V1) and IMO not worth using. I'll look through my decal listings tonight to see if any aftermarket decals are offered for the Egypt scheme.

Hi GregD.

Superscale got an aftermarket set but the colour scheme is wrong. If I can get the correct colourscheme I can use the decals because there is nothing wrong with them. Numbers are correct etc. Just got to paint the orange/black regonition patches. As I said the problem is the colour scheme.

Thunderbird, I checked my old lithos from GD and all shots show the same camo scheme as the US birds wear. Some of the photos barely show the gray demarcation lines and in others it is blatently obvious, so I'm guessing it is just the lighting conditions.

Some of the shots I have differ from the ones in the gallery here. If I get the chance I'll scan and upload what I have.

Some notes I forgot to add last night - I noted some interesting things about this photo:

http://www.f-16.net/modules.php?set_alb ... _photo.php

(#8 in the Egypt gallery)

note how the wing walk lines are *darker* than the underlying gray. These darker lines are also noticeable in the photo with the orange ID panels. This is different than most schemes, Norway not withstanding. Also the background looks more like north central Texas than north central Eqypt, so I am guessing this (LMTAS) photo was taken prior to delivery.

Based on these observations I'd say there are at least two Egypt paint schemes, the standard US tactical pattern, and the lighter upper surface pattern seen in the referenced photos.

Thank you. It is this colour scheme that I'm looking for. I do not know if it is the same colour (FS number) as the Norwegian F-16's.

Thunderbird, here is the decal sheet for the HobbyCraft kit. The kit instructions show the standard USAF paint scheme but I wouldn't take that as proof of the paint scheme.
