Did anyone think that maybe the paint shop goofed? They are only human, and I've seen it in person picking up my C-130 from PDM. I was in the West Virginia Air Guard, and our plane had "South Carolina Air Guard" painted on the side. Just a thought.

No mistake, the tail number is accurate. I don't know the exact details of why that is the case, but it may have something to do with the fact that -132 was on a separate contract as a "replacement test aircraft".

Anyway, here's a couple of pictures for you guys. First one is the actual serial # plate inside the wheel well. As you can see, it is # 06-4132.
Second one is a closer shot of the tail flash. There are also some other unique paint details on the aircraft, with the F-22 CTF patch on the left side in front of the SWB, and an EDW patch on the same spot on the right, but I don't have shots of those.

Cheers,
-Jason

Hey all,

I was on the F22 project up until last year. A132 was held back for testing and data gathering. If I remember correctly it was still there (Marietta) when I left Mar 2010. Or it may have just been delivered prior to me leaving.

Ok, amazing stuff this. Thank you Jason for these helpful photos. Clearly the sequence is strange:

07-4131 (first of the FY 2007 serials and we have photo proof)
06-4132 (note FY 2006, now photo proof)
07-4133 (back to FY 2007)
