Does anybody know when Lockheed will begin hiring for various other F-35 jobs....
I am a Armament Systems Technician and have submitted for about 8 weapons jobs with the F-35 with Lockheed. Do they take a long time to reply?
Maybe my resume does not meet there "computer's" requirements. I want the job at Eglin but it is beginning to look grim. Any info or help would be much appreciated!! |

I think it just depends on what they need and the amount of quallified applicant they get. In the past I have submitted numerous resumes for the F-16 program and only twice got contacted about prospective employment. However at the end of January I submitted a resume for the F-35 program, and about a week later got an offer to do a phone interview which I did a few days ago. It went really well according to the LM guys on the other end of the phone, and after the interview they gave me an option to choose between the AF version at Edwards or the Marine version an Pax River. The want people in place by mid March, don't know anything about Florida positions though.

| As sweetpete stated is pretty well on....Positions have been getting filled as early as 1 October 09' and still continuing for PAX River, and Edwards. Eglin is behind schedule but slowly jobs are being posted on the LM Careers site. Would recommend talking to the hiring officials directly and remain in contact. Immediate openings are also being filled by those of us closing out contracts in other regions and needing to relocate. Best to you!! |

Wingster,
I just got a job offer, total flash to bang time for me was less than two weeks. I would say they are definately looking hard so keep at it.
Ejecmaster, did your shop have any handy work in the successfull ejection from the Italian viper, if so good work.

Thanks Pete, Yes work had actually been done prior to flight. They guys are very professional, were quick to learn, and have good background experience in the fundamentals....little hard headed but is what I love about the Italians...
Made sure to edify them much as this was a first for a couple of them, so all well. Myself this is just under 10 my career...Is a super number but better if nothing had to happen, but such as life.
Appreciate your kind words, hat's off to you and your new career endeavors, congratulations!! |

| I interviewed with Lockheed in DEC 08 and was told that I was the number one choice for lead weapons loader/instructor...still waiting for that job here at Eglin. Not one word since. I have applied for every job that they have posted. |

| You assg. to the base now? Would contact the hiring official directly if you are there as this new person has been there since January. December 2008, major issues have transpired since then and first aircraft delivery had slipped. Good luck to you |
