Wow dude can you please tell me more about how awesome you are? It must be nice to give an answer and not have to back it up. Please leave your ego at the door. Give me one genuine reason why Daluth should get block 50's over an active duty unit that is in the fight. Oh and to the other dude about competitions....The Caf spends 4 months spinning up for the desert, 5 months deployed and then, 4 months trying to reconstitute. We don't have time to take our nice block 50's to the range and toss bdu-33's for quarters. Why will no one give a good answer to this question? and why will no one admit there are politics involved? Why is that taboo? I just don't get it.

I really shouldn't even answer this clown, but I will. Because I wont post specifics which are "CLASSIFIED", I'm going to get poned by you saying I have an ego? I don't think so.

Nuff Said...

I'm sorry. Does anyone else feel it is invalid to jump into a thread and tell everyone that you have the answer but you can't tell us cause it's classified? Dude i don't want to hear you're "classified" big man talk. Leave that stuff in your vault. Have reasons that are explainable or don't say anything. Choke yourself.

Deadseal- Just how did you get you name? Did you beat to death a seal that disagreed with you on something? Sounds like you could use some anger management.

I see nobody jumped in to save you....wonder why?...lol

You didn't read what I said. I said its not a dumb move to have Blk 50's at Duluth, and there are specific reasons for it, and they have nothing to do with being political.

Cheers,

Why do people on f-16.net (who are definitely in the 'don't know' column) constantly bring up Have Glass? The fact that you know that something called Have Glass exists does not, in any way, shape, or form make you seem 'cooler', or 'in the know'. I'm seriously sick of hearing it. Link-16! Have Glass! High off-boresight! SPACE! I know so much!

Plus dude, he was the one that had the power point presentation/ bullet paper ripping into my post, I can only respond in kind right? Block 50's going to daluth is dumb. and the WHOLE CAF thinks so. Don't tell me that daluth isn't sitting up their n the canadian border scratching their craniums and wondering how they got such a good deal. Politics man

I always like reading all the speculation on F-16.net on different topics and I think it makes for fun reading about what somebody thinks may or may not be happening. Unfortunatley for many people who read F-16.net and you know who you are, there are many things which just can't be posted on F-16.net for a variety of reasons of which I'm sure everybody who ever read a T.O. would know what I am talking about. Keep up the speculation, and I'll try to be as vague as possible when I have the correct answer...lol

Cheers,

ViperDude

Umm I don't get that from your comment. I know i'm very slow sometimes, but please explain how this is not some remark on not being able to talk about classified stuff. Suk it trebec!! Chicken Beef!!!

And maybe a turn on the wash rack trying to clean that finish? It's like cleaning sandpaper and the birds have looked awful ever since they started using it.
(Of course, the birds look GREAT on radar, so I guess it's OK.)

The fact is that every decision has a politicat side to it. Take the whole BRAC process. Anyone who has spent any significant amount of time in and around the USAF can go through that thing and make a list of decisions that make no sense from a BRAC point of view, but were made purely from a political perspective. Case in point, Closing a KC-135 Guard unit at McConnell AFB, and moving the jets 2 hours up the road to keep another ANG base open. Moving jets from the Washington ANG at Fairchild AFB to Sioux city to keep them open after taking away their F-16's. Keeping Ellsworth AFB open when Dyess could have easily fit all those B-1's in their current footprint. Those are just 3 easy one's that I have in my head. Every decision has a practical side and a political side to it. I don't think anyone would disagree with that. But you also need to acknowledge that Duluth is a good unit and deserves to remain open for a long time to come, and if it takes giving them Blk 50's then so be it.

Elliboom: I like your logic but then again being from the 148th my comments don't matter. I challange any unit to do a better job than we can. with any airframe. Deadseal find another post please.

nope sorry....If you don't like dissention you shouldn't take part in conversations. I never said daluth was a bunch of dirtbags. In fact it never had anything to do with daluth. I dont give a SH1t about daluth frankly. It was that we have 20year old block 40's 36 miles south of the most heavily defended airspace in the world with only a 56M for RWR awareness. Misawa will NOT get here before the first line gets out the door. It would be awesome for the boys to have an HTS pod. My comments were only on the political side. So thank you Elliboom for coming up with examples. I still don't understand why this subject is such taboo. Or why people don't think it's political. Wierd. And im sorry dude but if you can't handle someone disagreeing with you then maybe you need to not be around fighters or the people who fly/maintain them. You don't see me asking people to leave the thread or personally sending them emails.(please don't ever send me an email again) Holy crap people this is f-16.net. There's no room for pandering. All the folks who bitch have only said daluth is a great unit. Fine. But WHY did they get block 50's vs the CAF units. That is the question. My guess is primarily political, with a secondary objective of clearing for the f-35 pipeline. Which probably won't hit the street till 2016ish for full up CAF squadrons.

Deadseal: History lesson 101....20 years ago 3 guard units recieved blk 42's after flying old A-7's for years. Yes this move was political. The Active duty wanted the Blk 40's because of the GE's thrust. so the guard got the hand me downs. the same thing is going on now. to save money and buy f-35's the Active duty needs to cut airframes. Duluth has proven itself in the past to be a very mobile unit. We have deployed on several occasion's with just hours notice and stood up within 2 days's. As for Duluth's political influence i would have to say not so much. but we have been doing eveything in our power to impress the stars in D.C. and as a last note deadSEAL I did not e-mail you, I have been watching this post since it started in you whine alot..sorry just my opinion.
