The photo editors at AF.mil are mistaken then. P-G clouds do not equal "going supersonic", especially if the aircraft is "flying over Langley AFB" as the caption says. Cool photo though!

Even though Guysmiley is technically correct and the Raptor isn't breaking the sound barrier (in either shot, if I'm not mistaken). But who cares, it still looks cool! Thanks for sharing with everyone. Very Happy

Here's some good proof. Here's a -111 with a P-G effect with wings NOT swept so you KNOW it is SUB-sonic.
