I don't quite know where to put this as it's pretty heavy in the military aircraft department, but there's quite a bit of civil aviation in it as well. I figure this section of the forum will work OK for these pics
Aviation Nation 2009 was a pretty cool deal and I made sure to take plenty of pictures while I was there I haven't seen very many other pics from this airshow, so here's a few for everyone who couldn't make it this year If you like these, there's more over on my blog - just go to the address in my sig line
Make sure to click 'em for full size
Cessna 0-2 Skymaster - For sale for just under $100,000
Hangin' out with Bill Reesman - what a great guy
Classy - gotta love the Mustang
The A-10 Warthog - Because you care enough to send the very best
I think I might be shot if I didn't post at least one Raptor pic
Spooky is one good reason to be afraid of the dark!
Stearmans!!! The closest aircraft was actually used to train the Tuskegee Airmen in WWII
Here's a Ryan ST3KR from the Golden Age of aviation
15 November 2009 - SRA Kevin Reid helps to put warheads on Taliban foreheads all the way from Nevada
Yes, it flew for the crowd Gotta love the mighty P-38 - the only aircraft ever to score an aerial victory while in the glide mode thanks to Robin Olds
These T-33s also flew for the crowd. I still can't quite put my finger on why I love T-Birds, but I just think they're way too cool
Of course, there had to be at least one MiG-15 on display
This is one of the ones I thought TC might like
And the Osprey even made the trip for a Sunday static display
The song might say that seasons don't fear the Reaper, but I think we can all agree that the Taliban fears this Reaper
The USCG sure does love fluorescent, nearly radioactive orange, don't they ?
F-16 86-0315 on static display at the end of the day - I had to have at least one F-16 pic
I thought this was a pretty cool pic of an EC-135
The Thunderbirds high alpha pass
Bill Reesman's MiG-17F in the hot pit
This is a really big pic when you click on it - gotta love the C-17!
Another big pic here - Somehow I think I hear Dos Gringos calling out something like "Darkstar, Judy Judy - I'm goin' in for guns!!!"
Getting into the film pics (yes, I still use film ), here's a couple of the C-17 demo for TC
OK, is anyone really surprised I'd take another picture of the Thunderbirds ?
There will be more pictures of this A-10 demo once the film gets developed, but I thought these two were pretty cool
Experiencing the sight, sound, and fury of an F-4 Phantom was a rare treat that I felt lucky to enjoy
Here's hoping y'all liked the pics |

I should have known they'd start putting pilot and crewdog names on the UAVs. |

Thanks, Habu, and congrats on the position I only have one other decent pic of a UAS, so I figured I'd share it here as you guys both like 'em so much
Link, I hadn't thought about that, but it makes sense
I'll remember to get a few more pics of those the next time I'm at the airshow |

Thanks Stoly
Here's a few for you from my last trip to Nellis on 30 November My brother is retired USCG and was kind enough to get me on base for a bit and I managed to get some more pics of Eastern Block Cold War hardware
Yes, these are clickable for full size as well
MiG-19 Fulcrum and the tail of a MiG-23 Flogger inside the Threat Training Facility at Nellis AFB
MiG-17 Fresco outside the Threat Training Facility at Nellis AFB
MiG-29 Fulcrum in East German colors on Nellis AFB
SU-7 Fitter outside the Threat Training Facility at Nellis AFB
MiG-21 Fishbed on Nellis AFB
And yes, I also got a couple of pics of missiles, too
SA-2 Guideline surface to air missile outside the Threat Training Facility at Nellis AFB
SA-3 Goa surface to air missiles mounted on a ZIL-157 - I've always loved this unit for its "old fashioned" looks.
Here's hoping you liked these as well |

Geez, I remember the day when if you talked about what was inside the Threat Training Facility, you would be court-martialed. Times sure have changed since the end of the Cold War....
Best Regards, |

Best Regards,
I was just thinking the same thing. First time I went through the "petting zoo" we were warned of all the horrible things that would happen to us if we spoke of what was inside. I guess since Goole Maps now lets you zoom in enough to see what's inside it doesn't really matter anymore. |

They need to remove the "pilot" name, never has the moniker "stick actuator" been more accurate. |
