Thanx guys! I took over 90 pictures this day, I was allowed to check out the Sniper XR pod (PANTERA as we call it) I got good pictures of the little thingy that is stuck to the canopy, for the helmet mounted sight. I got to see the jamming pod that is incorporated in the bomb pylon on the starboard side and I witnessed how they remove the engine from the viper...a great day. It was christmas and birthady all at once!! :thumb:

Good that you got to check out the Viper's cockpit. Not much room to run around in there huh? Also noticed how clean that Norweigan Viper is. Nice!
I'm watching...

I for one, would love to see more of your photos when (if?) you get the chance and congratulations on your F-16 "cockpit check". I'm insanely jealous, right now!

Hi all

I had the same cool experience earlier this year. This was on Fighter Wing Skrydstrup ESK727 in Denmark and ofcourse in a Danish F-16. We visited the workshop and saw a full start up and the aircraft was armed with live MK.82, as the yearly live fire exercise took place. Also notice the gun area. This bird had lots of rounds passing through it's barrels. We also visited the F-16 simulator they have, it was out of order that day, so no testflights for us that day.
Filmed the entire startup and took well over 100 pictures. Once you are in a situation like this, you better have enough SD cards and a back up battery.

The best thing is, I'll be going there again next year. Nice to have something to look forward too.

Grettings

Her comes some more pictures from my adventure last tuesday! I have to tell you all about my girlfriend, She was with me on the airbase that day, and she enjoyed it too! We spent more than two hours in the hangar, but she never complained. She is partially handicapped, but got a chair to sit on. She is not as crazy about vipers as I, but she supports me and takes part of my hobby and I really LOVE her for it!!
More pictures tomorrow!

Here we see the "desk", One of the worlds fastest desks I have heard! Notice the drag chute deployment button, upper left side.

One of the Vipers "Business points" Notice the copper grease used to simplify the cleaning after firing the Vulcan.
DSC_0041.JPG
Her you can see the tail pretty good, all Norwegian vipers now carry the same tailmark, no more individual squadron markings, as all air bases share vipers!

Here is another shot of the gun port with copper grease.

Her you can see some blotchy spraypainting done on the viper, maybe the right color wasn't available?
