Time to bring this thread in line with the F-35 category into which it was placed.
The Su-27 is superior to the F-35 in looks and has a vastly superior and often tested ejection seat. |

I would argue the looks aspect, especially when you get up close to a SU-27, but when it comes to real world testing of the ejection seat... the Sukhoi wins hands down! |

However- I am not that far gone to KNOW where the buck stops. The top aircraft of the 20th century(and 21st so far) is known to be combat proven. Sorry, no Flankers have seen combat yet. As for untested aircraft that are #1...

Was there no Flanker action in Georgia? |

| It appears there was a very small number of SU-27s involved, but with no air to air action going on they would have been just aerial spectators. No sense wasting them as Georgian SAM fodder. |

| I've seen both MiG's and Sukhoi's up close. Their build quality leaves much to be desired compared to Western counterparts. And the cockpit layouts were very oldschool compared to the F-16. Range on the MiG's not very good either. They were the last to takeoff and first to land due to their inferior range. Good power but poor fuel consumption. Avionics wise, they do have some tricks, but nothing comparable to current 5th gen. |

| Ex-German and Slovakian MiG-29's, Russian SU-27's. We flew against the German MiG's during Frisian Flag. The Slovakian AF came on a goowill visit to Holland along with with the Spanish AF. Got to see the Russian Sukhoi's while working for the Norwegians at Bødo. |
