Any maintainers or egress techs out there able to confirm this is an oxygen bottle bracket config that is actually flying in a Viper? I've seen lots of pics showing the new bigger oxygen bottle flying in them but none have actually shown this bracket config. I'm working on a 1:1 F-16 seat mockup and about to attach these, just want to make sure these aren't F-22 specific before I go cutting holes to mount them.
Thanks

It is a variation of the larger oxygen bottle mod. It just happens to be one of the early brackets. There are 2 different variations, one that opens to the inside of the seat, and that one that opens to the outside.
However, the O2 guage is incorrect, that is the old style off of the smaller bottles. |

Thanks for the reply smiley. I think you are describing the lower bracket that is mounted on the arm rail? My original question was actually about the two right-angle brackets mounted on the side of the seat back that are holding the bottle? Are those standard now for all big bottle seats?
You actually answered what would've been the next question if I had known there were differences in that arm rail mounted bracket so thanks for the tip.
Any pics available for that inward opening bracket?
Appreciate the details about the O2 gauge also. |

Anybody got any updates to this question? Just trying to get confirmation that the seat back brackets are accurate for an F-16 ACES II?
Thanks |

Sorry, Have been busy with work lately, the brackets are the correct configuration for the 50 cu in bottle for the F-16, for either bottom braket configuration. I assume if you eventually ran across a picture of the updated version it would be easy enough to reconfigure your seat.
Also, I looked around for some pictures of the other style cable cover ( the part that is sitting on the seat side cap) and was unable to find any. Either version is correct though, the other one I brought up is just an updated version with captive fasteners as opposed to the bolts and nuts on the bottle brace on the side of the seat. Pretty much a fod prevention tool is all. |
