| It's obvious from the pics shown so far that F-35's in testing are not in finished product by any means. ELP's latest photo clearly shows an unfinished product. What are you digging for anyway? I truely have to question your motives, considering your first post. |

Yeah, not exactly a good first Forum post icebreaker- kind of like starting off your first dsy on the school playground with a "Yo Mama" joke. Certainly NOT the best choice. |

| If Chinese military intelligence is looking here for F-35 data, we have little to worry about. |

Adversaries are researching countermeasures to the RAM.
(This is much like the beat all cobra maneuver; except this is also effective against RAM; it's called the Myotonic maneuver)

Well unless he's an American that's been bought off, I don't think he's any kind of spy. I got plenty of pals overseas in places like the mid-east and all. I have often told friends here they speak better english then I do. But you can always tell they are not American by subtle sentence structures that Americans simply do not use. Many times they will use the exact phrase I would use but ALWAYS they would switch 2 certain words around. It changes the way the entire question or phrase sounds and his slang has none of this in it.
IE:
I would say: Beazz, I don't know what I will do.
They would say: Beazz, I don't know what will I do.
Subtle changes like that are common with non Americans and a dead give away to me. No matter how well their english is, they will always make these type changes in certain sentences because they don't know it's not how someone born and raised here would for the most part say it.
They don't even realize they change it from the way we would say it here, as they have learned textbook ways of saying things so they are saying it by the book correctly but overwhelmingly here, we don't say it right out of a book and have an American way of saying things.
Like a very old song from my childhood said about english here: In America, we ain't spoke it for years. )

Dudes, I don't have bad motives. I'm a good American. I wanted to know how F-35 ram is visually different or any way different than F-22 ram. I heard about F-22 ram has problems and I seen peices of it missing on the F-22. Wondering if F-35 ram is better. Also this is my 2nd thread I have made (here). Sry for bad start though. |

| RAM stuff is pretty classified. Basically what is known is that the F-35 RAM is the most advanced type and so requires less maintenance. It's also resistant to salt water corrosion. How this affects RCS is not known (it is possible that there is a tradeoff between having maintenance friendly RAM and the smallest possible RCS), but the point is it's going to do what it was intended to, which is provide a good enough layer of Radar reduction for the F-35 to do its job with a reasonable margin of safety. |

| You will never "see" a difference in the RAM as it is painted over. |

Depends on the recipe and how it's cooked dude.

No need to apologise. Welcome to the forums! As for your question, consider that the F-22 was never designed to operate in tough forward deployed maritime conditions, and that it was designed 10 years prior to the F-35. Lockheed maintains that the RAM used on the F-35 is an entierly new type. It is said to be much tougher and simpler to maintain. In addition the F-35 uses less of it, partly because the airframe is machined to an even tighter tolerance than the F-22, which means less "creeping waves" and other exotic terms I shant pretend to understand. Also, it is believed that the F-35 employs wireing with electric charge around access panels to dissipate RF waves.

That reminds me of what ships used to do in WWII to avoid magnetic mines. |
