Fed up. Not enough $$$$ for all the BS. Treated like a slave too much. (they get paid in peanuts) so hate the fact that you make more. And you pay the price.

No matter what job you take they own you.. best to get all you can. No one lasts long for a reason.

Did the Peace Sun thing in the desert at Khamis 83-87. Things still haven't changed.

In response OS7, the job was good I enjoyed the work. Very humane. Even on a heavy fly day everyone went to chow, this would be unheard of in the USAF. Salary a bit low, but so what-- you were in Europe, no it was the lack of housing and the requirement to sh sh sh share, Steve Martin -Planes, trains. he he.

Sounds like a decent job, the sharing of what is the big question. Are you talking about housing, auto?

You share an apartment and a car and if deployed a room. Great if the other crew chief is your girlfriend.. very bad if you don't get along.

Not good. If the money isn't that great then at least give the employee an apartment... without a co-worker sharing. I'd purchase car while I was there avoiding the car sharing. As Thomas wrote, you are in Europe, a heck of alot better than Saudi. UAE again sounds like the best bet.

Understood. Sometimes you got to spend some to make some though and if it buys me my own wheels, that's OK. I would probably purchase a flat there and avoid the roomate problem. Figure... stay 4 years and then sell both. If the contract calls for 2 years then share housing. Thanks for all the info.

The contract will only be 1 year...then they re-neg on things and cut what they can. You will loose your a$$ buying anything over here without a hard contract (which no one will give you) ..have you seen the exchange rate buddy? buy a flat ???
