I have a rather nice collection of cockpit pics taken of RNLAF F-16A serial number 88-0010, known by the RNLAF tail number of 010.
The serial database puts this one down as one made by Fokker, and presumably was made for the RNLAF, and therefore was not a USAF jet at any time.
HOWEVER...I have in this collection of cockpit photos two photos that confuse the issue by their very clarity. One is a very clear picture of the entire data plate in the cockpit behind the ejection seat on the pilot's left side. Every marking on it is VERY clear and totally readable. It's a General Dynamics Fort Worth data plate for a US made F-16A. Serial number matches, 88-0010.
The other is a photo of the outside of the cockpit showing the ID stencils.
It says:
US AIR FORCE F-!6A
AF SERIAL NUMBER [88-80** (Last numbers are very faded, but appear to be 10. )
I think there's a stencilling mistake. That shoud read 88-0010, not 88-8010.
Still, it has USAF stencils on it and that data plate would indicate that it's a GD bird, not a Fokker, right? Something doesn't add up here.
The photos are VERY BIG, but if anyone wants to see them I can send the two to you. I can crop and/or resize them, too.

Hi cmjohnson,
I would certainly like to see those pics. Since I'm currently managing the serialsdb, I'm fond of such 'interpretation' issues .
You can send them to photos@f-16.net
Just don't go over 5MB please!!
