TEST PILOT / FLIGHT TEST ENGINEER: NAVY UCAS PROGRAM

Edwards AFB, California / NAWC, Patuxent River Maryland

This is your chance to join the Northrop Grumman Flight Test Team on one of the most visible programs underway today, the X-47 B, Navy UCAS.
First flight of the X-47B is planned for November and carrier qualifications will commence in the 2011 timeframe You would perform Air Vehicle Operator functions during developmental tests and in support of operational flights of the X-47B. Some flight test activities may be performed in manned aircraft including the flying test bed. You will: execute tests in accordance with FAA and ICAO procedures; prepare flight test documentation; coordinate and assist in the execution of ground and flight test events. These duties include: flight test readiness reviews, pre and post test mission briefings. In addition you will be expected to prepare and deliver briefings to company, customer and user staff personnel and maintain proficiency on project aircraft. Note that you would be expected to obtain and maintain a FAA Class II medical certificate or better.

Basic Qualifications: Candidates must have a BS in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent with at least nine years of related aerospace experience. Commercial pilot qualifications with instrument rating and a minimum of 1,500 first-pilot flight hours. You must be a graduate of a military Test Pilot School or possess equivalent flight test experience. An active Secret Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Gulfstream pilot experience and current Top-Secret Clearance

Knowledge of depot operations and/or commercial/military maintenance inspection programs a plus. A degree in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering and/or military experience are a plus. Domestic and International travel is required. Foreign language skills are welcome.

Have a minimum of 4 - 10 years experience in the areas of engineering or aviation industry, specifically in supporting products and services to the U.S. Government and/or foreign militaries and possess the following skills: Comprehensive F-16, C-130 or F-5 platform, system, sub-assembly, and detail part knowledge
Thorough knowledge of F-16, C-130 or F-15 INSTRUCTOR
Drawing Interpretation & Bill of Material Preparation
Customer OEM/relations
Statement of Work Development
Contract review and pricing
