you are very fast modelling. actually i took my time with mine but finally i felt a great satisfaction when it worked. peter what kind of radio (emissor and receptor) do you recomend to this jet?

Is the total length of the fuselage 291mtr?
Since last year I am using 2.4 ghz (Futaba T-14 MZ) and find this super, it is very safe and no one can interfere on your channel. You won't be the first wich jet will come down when someone els is showing his new toy when you are flying. This happend while a very big starfighter (full scale1/4) was displaying and came down.

If I have some new developments I will let you know.

little by little my jet is growing and the final length will be 2.91m. i had thought in a 1:6 scale but i decided by 1:5 it is much better. peter will you use a servo above the nose gear to steer the tire when the jet is taxiing or will you mount a device (servo or piston) on the strut similar to the actuator in the real f16? i dont like the dome on the intake for the rc models like the picture.

For steering I wil use a servo wich will be connected on top of the nose gear, this is the most easy way for it.
If you use the bulkheads on your drawing these provide enough space for the nose gear. I am going to use them to.
Crash and burn is what I ment. Two transmitters on one channel and houston you have a problem.

Hi Pablo, I think that you need to fixate the components on a big piece of plywood wich is straight. Than you can finish the surface with balsa.

you read my mind jejeje. i have a little space where i live but i´ve found an space that is great for this. im working on it. i sleep with my brother at the same bedroom and i´m thinking of buying a bunk bed so a big door or big piece of plywood will fit. you are rigth i need this to ensure the perfect alignment. thanks peter.

That, my friend, is the nose wheel steering actuator. It is used...well....to steer the nose wheel. : )

You will notice that it is attached to a collar above, and below, the collar that the end of its piston is attached to (you actually can't see the other end of the actuator in this picture). This collar is then connected to the torque links. The torque links connect the upper portion of the strut (stationary), to the lower portion of the strut (which moves) to act as the shock would on your car. The torque links also provide the connection from the actuator to the nose wheel, while still allowing for movement as weight is applied to the nose wheel. On the nose wheel steering actuator, you will also find a feedback potentiometer, which communicates with the aircraft computer systems (nose wheel steering control box, and Digital FLight Control Computer).

So...as the pilot pushes on the rudder pedal to steer, the electrical signal is sent to the DFLCC and the NWS control box, which in turn tells the nose wheel actuator how far, and in which direction to push or pull. The torque links are disconnected prior to towing, and the nose wheel is free to rotate farther so we Crew Chiefs can stick the jet into tight spots. It may be interesting to note that a pilot has no nose wheel steering if the pin connecting them is left in the nose wheel after towing.... It may also be interesting to note that the pin can be installed improperly, but the torque links look like they are connected at a glance. The truth will be revealed as the pilot begins to taxi.... The nose landing gear strut also has an internal centering cam, should the torque links become disconnected in flight. I wouldn't want to land that way... : ) I hope this helps!
