In the 4-27 T.O. it lists a transducer and a stick force sensor with different part numbers. I can't remember the difference, if any, between a stick force transducer and a stick force sensor and why it lists both. It show the same part in the figure and index picture. I have forgotten. Any ideas?
Thank you. |

Force Sensor Assembly and Force Transducer Assembly have different SMR codes
http://www.tpub.com/content/generators/ ... 24P_14.htm
Leading me to believe in different manufactures for the item.
I ran the P/Ns for Force Sensor Assembly and no such critter!
Might be a back in the day type of thing for the Sensor. |

| What Block aircraft and what country are you in, it may explain why the T.O. may not have up to date information in it. |

Check the dots!! If the part you are looking at has less dots in front of it (DESCRIPTION column) than the one above it, it is a subassembly of the part above. Sometimes the nomenclature gets a little messed up. In this case, when you look at the -4-27 (I always have one with me) you will see the force sensor assembly with NO index number in front of it and SMR code AOO, which means Assemble at Org level, remove/replace at Org level. This is the part number for the entire force sensor assembly, which includes the transducer and cables. If you look further down the in the IPB, you will find the force transducer and transducer cables. Each of these items has an index number in front of it, meaning you can order them through supply. You CANNOT order the force sensor assembly through supply, but you can put one together when you connect the force transducer to the transducer cables. The part number for the force sensor assembly is purely a place holder for the next higher assembly. If you wanted to see the Lockheed drawing for the whole assembly, you would get the 16VCXXXX number from the DESCRIPTION column for the force sensor assembly and the drawing would show you the whole thing.
In short, you CAN'T order the force sensor assembly, but you can build one from the force transducer assembly and the transducer cables. As soon as you connect these two together, you have the force sensor assembly!!
Back to vacation in NH...
