Can't be their #1 favorite, otherwise, there'd be more members of the Dallas Cowboys sitting on Death Row.
The Cowboys are now like 2nd cousin to the Oakland Raiders. |

Man, I feel bad for you!!!
There's only one person in my organization that sucks....the GM....what he's doing, I'd like to see him strapped to a bed in the Huntsville Unit with an IV! He's a moron.
I can say MY organization because I own a part of the team and paid for their stadium. |

Green Bay
Yup, I'm a Cheesehead, born-n-bred in Titletown USA, and if I'm lucky, I'll get my season tickets sometime before I retire.
What gave it away? bragging about my worthless stock? or was it the wish to see Ted Thompson executed for high treason? (Forcing Brett out) Did I mention that I can see the lights of Lambeau from my front yard?
Favre'll be remembered and loved here long after that SOB Thompson is run out of town. Favre will ALWAYS be a member of the Pack. |

Yeah, til he signs with the Vikes...and then retires, and then changes his mind, and then retires, and then changes his mind, and then retires, and then...
Brett should've let it go a couple of years ago with the Packers. Many outside of Mississippi and Wisconsin would have respected him more, had that been the case.
But I know how you feel. It's been 8 years, and I'm still sore about my team firing Tony Dungy. He could've taken that 2002 team to the title just as easily as Chucky did.
Yeah, I root for the other "Bay". |

Tampa's fine--now that they're not in our division anymore.
He's a pure-blooded competitor, he didn't want to leave with a 4-12 season as his last, and when McCarthy came in, A-Rodg wasn't nearly ready to take over the helm. That season was expected, and then the next year, all the pieces fell right into place. Brett probably felt terrible that his last throw in the NFL was a pick that ended up costing the team a Super Bowl berth. Thompson used that as leverage to goad him into that conference. But then Brett TOLD him 3 weeks later that it was a mistake. Brett could have easily gotten back into the swing of things and we could have made another run at the playoffs. I'm not condoning what he did, but with his emotions probably frayed, he should have been given more leeway--especially because he's as loved around here as he was.
Thompson has stated he wants youth--he doesn't seem to realize that young guys, no matter HOW good they are in college, don't always translate to good Pro players.
8 years is nothing, Brett was the QB of the Packers since I was a kid, I don't remember the Majik Man at all. Brett was in GB for 16 seasons, that alone should have counted for a lot. I'm ashamed at how quickly these so-called 'fans' have turned on him. I don't buy the arguments that people have tried to make that "A-Rodg was better than Brett last year" because Thompson made sure he would be. He waited until the last possible second to make the trade, and then Brett had to go in only having a preexisting relationship with Bubba Franks, whereas, A-Rodg had years to forge bonds between every player in GB's receiving corps. That alone nullifies several Favre interceptions from last year.
Oh, and Minnesota should be fined for not only communicating with Brett last year, but also lying to Goodell about it. Childress let it slip in one of his press conferences that he had been in communication with Brett during Thompson's railroading. There's two reasons why Brett's not going to sign with the Viqueens: He's got too much respect for the Green Bay fans to come out wearing purple, and there's no guarantees Viqueen fans are going to support him--he's a sworn enemy of Minnesota and North Dakota.
You're probably going to have to break this topic into a couple of new ones--Dog and the Favre situation.... |

The Raiderettes are still the best thing about the team. I always liked the Raiderettes more than the Cowgirls.
As for the team, I've never disliked the Raiders, I just don't like Al Davis. I also wish the Raiders would move back to L.A.
It's been 14 years, and it doesn't look like L.A. will have a team before 2012, which would be nearly 17 years since the Raiders and Rams went packing. That's way too long. Allowing both teams to leave L.A. was the worst decision that Paul Tagliabue ever made, and not doing more to bring a team to L.A. was another p!$$ poor decision that Tagliabue and now Roger Goodell have made.
Wait a minute. Where was I?...Oh yeah, that's right, The Raiderettes!

For a pro cheerleading squad, the Cowgirls are my favorite. But I think the Packers do it better, we have high school squads come in and cheer. The only regular season game I went to I was 8 or 9--we got the tickets through a program at the school I went to. About the 3rd quarter, one of the cheerleaders caught my eye. My dad got her to come over, and I got a picture with her, that was the icing on the cake--we won the game 17-7 against the Rams.
The only other game I went to was a disappointing preseason loss to the Pats--my mom took me this time, and thus we didn't stay the whole game. She's a curse on the team--for the last four seasons, her watching a game has led to a loss nearly every time--I had to send her out of the room when that playoff game against the Seagulls went into OT. You know the "We want the ball, we're gonna score," game. |

| Ah yes - the Raiderettes are the only part of the team more entertaining than their fans. Cowgirls are the classic ones, tho - gotta love them too |

I guess that works, if you're Glenn Quagmire.

Ya always gotta assume the worst, dontcha TC?
I'm from 'sconsin, I assume the wurst....and once I'm 21, the beer too!!
It would have been perfectly legit up until a few months ago if one of those cheerleaders had taken an interest in me....but that's a monster of an IF!!!

D@mmit, Greek....this is NOT the thread for chickens!!!!! Do you want to make TC madder at us for having to split the topic again?? I don't.
When he's on his game, you'd need a certain SFPD officer to stop Favre, but then he could probably throw a football fast enough to make Callaghan think twice. |

I got a memory of Da Raidahs for ya.
The December 22, 2003 MNF game between Da Raidahs and the Packers. That game stands out in my mind because of the intestinal fortitude (for an athlete) that Favre showed in playing less than 24 hours after his father passed away. He dismantled the Raiders in the first half.
Raider Nation gave him a standing ovation--which is really something.
As for expanding the league, I think the NFL should expand to 40 teams:
Two in LA
One in Boise (play their games on the blue turf...FTW!)
One in Omaha (sure they got the Huskers, but the Pro game is something different and they're in Lincoln anyway)
Las Vegas, so what if they're afraid of condoning gambling, I got 2:1 odds that every game is bet on anyway....and naming the team could be fun!!
Oklahoma--they're another rabid football market that's untapped
Utah--middle of football nowhere, i think the closest team is Seattle, and they suck.
Toronto--they've been wanting a team for a while, they should have one
They should bump the schedule to 20 games (start the last week of August) and play all the preseason games in early July--when we're all going through NFL withdrawals. This would mean the Super Bowl doesn't get played until mid-March--but whatever, I still think they can handle it--hockey players skate on a thin sheet of ice, and they play 82+ games a year. 16 games isn't justifying their paychecks in my eyes, no matter how good they are. |
