I remember when Star Trek first appeared on television, I was visiting a girlfriend (she was babysitting). It seemed like a great chance (as in the past) to visit and "make out"...I was 15 years old (whatelse is there to do). Anyway, we are at "it" and the program comes on (she had the TV on so the kids would not hear us I guess).
Anyway, the program comes on...I am watching it out of the corner of my eye (no BS) as we press forward with the moment. Strange thing is, I get interested in it (more then her) and I ask her to stop for a moment...I wanted to see what this was about (I am a Sci Fi nut I guess). Embarassed
We stop playing around for a few moments, I got interrested in the show, so we watch the entire program (it lasted an hour)...she kept trying to make out some more, I made her wait (I know, jerk huh). But I loved it (Star Trek), I watched the whole show and got hooked on it.
Later I tried to pick up where we left off, she would not hear of it (go figure) so I left...we never got together again but I never missed a showing back then (I found another girl and never made out during that program)....so "yea" I love STar Trek
Ever hear of commercials????

Ps - I am not a fan of the remakes - they are fine the way they are
putting Hayden Christensen in the final scene??? That was wrong, after all, you'd think Anakin would have aged in the twenty-or-so years between ROTS and ROTJ.
Everybody knows that Han shot first.
As for the inclusion of Jar Jar, they probably needed someone to play off of Anakin as a kid. Binks takes the blame for allowing the Empire to be created in AOTC--though he later realized the mistake and joined the Alliance.

The original Star Trek. Two words for you: Christine Chapel!
Check please! |

Yep...I remember...
You know, some of the older stuff...was pretty cool, may not have had the graphics of today, but it really started on shows like that I think.
Twight Zone, another favorite of mine too, first time I saw both Shatner and Robert Devoe (I love that guy too) was in that old TV show...
Land of the Giants ...was lame (I know, off topic but I had to mention that) |

You know, this made me think of the older TV series most of us (more than likely watched)...anyone watch Rat Patrol - those guys were amazing, made me want a Jeep, one show I never got to finish (see the ending) was Invaders (they would die and leave a burn spot) kind of like a Shart |

Seven was my favorite character for two reasons; she showed how people can overcome and adapt to a new situation and thrive therein
.......you don't need two guesses at the second reason... |

Uhura was a BABE in the new one. looked pretty good in the orginal show too.... I didnt think it possible, but her skirt got even higher in the new movie.....just sayin...

There is no forgivable excuse for Jar Jar. he is without a doubt the worst, most annoying character ever created, ever.
yeah - feel bad for the guy that USED to play Anakin. Also - they redubbed Fett's lines (all three and a half...) with Morrison's voice. As cool as that New Zealand accent was, I liked fett's orginal voice better - it was even more bad@ss. ALRIGHT I ADMIT - I am a huge fan of the fett. The armor is awesome - nothing in star trek compares to that.

D@mn straight - makes him less cool if he killed in self-defense; cold-blooded was so much badder, added something to his character.
Back to the women thing: princess leia, gold bikini - anyone? |

Maybe this is just me being weird, but I liked the cinnamon-bun hairdo Carrie Fisher wore in ANH.
Your point about Han being more bad@ss is good, but also, how the heck can Greedo miss??? unless he's been trained at the Galaxy's Worst Blaster Range.....but seeing as he's supposed to be a bounty hunter, they're not supposed to miss.

As long as she stayed away from the galley....
Didn't they redub Boba's voice with the guy that played Jango? If that is the case--that keeps the story consistent with the canon established in the prequel....Boba is Jango's clone after all. |

He went to the "stormtrooper school of marksmanship" [- read the article on wikipedia]

Yeah - that was Morrison. Did keep the consistency, but I still liked the original guy better...
Also, showing Boba as a kid was extremely uncool |

Oh yeah that's right, the Imperial Stormtrooper Academy....but I thought they only admitted Humans????--meh, must've been an exchange program.
Ya want depth, ya got your depth with Boba showing up in Episode II...I think it serves as a vital piece of backstory, and shows that he was once an innocent little kid (that just so happened to try and KILL Obi-Wan.)
Okay, I got an idea--this one you CAN blame on me... 98% of it anyway
Favorite lines or scenes/episodes from the three series:
Wars:
Scene: Battle of Geonosis
Line: You were right Master, the negotiations were short.
Trek:
Episode: TNG Best of Both Worlds I/II
Line:
Worf: Die. (To Q after Q insists that he is human) |
