I was wondering if there were any life support techs out there that could suggest a source for ACES II parts? I am building an F-16E Block 60 simulator (as a personal project/personal use) and have started building the ACES II Replica seat. I am looking for all of the following to bolt onto the frame:
Seat Cushions (bottom/back)
Parachute Container
Ejection Handles (Front/Right)
Lap Belt
Parachute Risers
Oxy Bottle
Survival Kit straps (attachs to pilot's harness)
Inertia Reel Lever
My current state of my project can be found here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=147&t=858274
Thanks for any pointers! I can either be contacted on here, or via email to john.steensen@hotmail.com, john.steensen@us.army.mil, OR via MSN Messenger at john.steensen@us.army.mil. |

| I know you are trying to recreate the real thing, but if you have ever been in a real simulator, they dont have lap belts, survival kits straps, or parachute risers. The seat cushion is recommeded, that seat gets hard even in the real aircraft after just 1 hour. |

Never been in the real thing, but definitely would like to get the wow factor too - eventually I would like to show this simulator in the future. (Local airshows or whatnot.) I did however post in the wrong priority order of parts:
Seat Cushions (bottom/back)
Parachute Container
Ejection Handles (Front/Right)
Oxy Bottle
Data Recorder box (empty inside)
Lap Belt
Parachute Risers
Survival Kit straps
Inertia Reel Lever |

Seat Cushions - google "oregon aero" they manufacture seat cushions for all sorts of fighter jets including all USAF [Link pending approval] however, a recent change to tech data prohibits the use of these pads in USAF [Link pending approval] so you might could get a discount on them because they are pricey!
The cushions are the only thing I know of that you can get through open [Link pending approval] the easiest way to get all this stuff is to check ebay frequently or become really good friends with someone in Aircrew Egress Systems Career [Link pending approval] it might cost you alot of beer LOL!!! |

| Your oxygen bottle is too small. Block 60's are OBOGS equipped and have the larger EOS bottle. |
