| Tamiya 1:48 F-16 built just after kit release in UK with resin burner can to convert to a blk 52. Twobobs decals. I built this one about two years ago and instantly fell in love with the kit. Plans to do about 20, first two uploaded elsewhere. |

Ok, so what intake did you use for the NSI? Also, HARMs aren't actually white, they're light gray. Common mistake though, no biggie.
Otherwise, looking good! |

HARMs are light gray?? It must be a really, really light gray, like "take white paint and wave a sealed bottle of black next to it" kind of light! I've never actually seen one up close, only photos. |

Yup! Gray!
This was an issue brought up a few years ago on another site, so I went nuts taking pics at Miramar that year. The pictures are pretty accurate, but to many it stll looks white. However, in the last two pics, look at the difference between the AMRAAM radome and the HARM. The AMRAAM radome is white, and clearly lighter in color than the HARM. Best match is FS36495 Light Gray. |

Nice pics Habu! That still looks like Ustabewhite to me. As in, it's grungy as hell, it used to be white.
But I suppose if you're going for accuracy you'd WANT that heavy weathering and mottled grey-white color. I always picture ordnance in its pristine "showroom floor" condition I guess. |

| Well, you got it right...but backwards. It's not ustabewhite, it's gonnabewhite. I think people think it's white because the gray paint oxidizes into a whitish gray. You're quite right in that it gives it a dingy, pasty color, and when you paint it light gray, you've given it a sort of insta-weather. Mike says the color is in fact camouflage grey, and that it just lightens up and oxidizes. That's why I go with the 36495 when I paint mine. Ain't that right, Mike? |

Kit MCID - At the time i thought 42's and 52's had them, learning all the time. I saw the comment on light grey HARMs elsewhere so will bear in mind for future. |
