Had 05-4088 & 05-4106 both served with the 3rd WG at Elmendorf AFB before making the move to Holloman AFB.

Thanks

Can anyone confirm the 8th FS will indeed be the second HO Raptor squadron? I had initially heard 7/8th were the two, But have saw 7/9th referenced other places, sporatically.

Jesus does that Raptor look sexy as hell in that profile. :inlove:

The 8th and 9th FS of the 49th FW were inactivated last year, only the 7th FS "Screamin' Demons" remains, now equipped with the Raptor.

Nope. Only the Screamin' Demons would be the sole Raptor squadron @ Holloman.

Then why are the 8th FS listed as F-22 operators on the official F-22 Team Website?

http://www.f22-raptor.com/media/raptor_ops.html

Note the other future operators are 199th listed as well. There are to be seven combat squadrons for 126 combat coded jets: 7th, 8th, 27th, 90th, 94th, 199th and 525th.

How about the 531st FS, soon to be resurrected from 1962?

The 531st is an associate active duty squadron to the 199th who "owns" the jets. The 301st, 302nd, and 192nd are associate reserve/guard squadrons to active duty squadrons. The 199th is the only guard unit to have the F-22.

They were painted up in 90th FS markings when delivered from the factory- however, they never made it to Elmendorf- as they moved directly from Langley to Holloman.

You mean the first Holloman F-22s had AK tailcodes?

AK = Eielson & Elmendorf AFBs.
