I asked Leandro for a photo proof of 88-0439. Please enjoy:

It confirms a current 4th FS assignment.

Just minutes ago, from Leandro I got the permission to upload his very important picture for use in our F-16 Aircraft Database. Joris and some more people (including me) should be satisfied with this 100% confirmation.

The DoD has run at least one roadshow for Pakistan on the Block 50/52. USAF sends jets and pilots, brief the PAF on capes, do some 'joint' flying, then go home. I expect that this is related.

I was told by a pilot who went on one such roadshow recently that it was a scary deal - lots of unfriendly locals, very little personal security, and at least one local opened up with AK at the C-5 that was carrying them home.

a very nice article giving Pakistani perspective on US deployments. Parts on terrorist warnings are directly relevant to your post. Would strongly recommend reading it.

BTW, the author was a PAF F-16 and Mirage pilot and has some very well written articles on PAF history. All our available on his blog

Also while you are mentioning a Block 50/52 road show, the aircraft mentioned in the posts above are block 40s. Therefore it maybe some other thing deployment or exercise perhaps. Unless I am missing confusing things here.

I dont get it and I have a few questions.
1- Which Paf airbase is it ??? I mean, it should be one of these since a Mirage is seen here ( I guess, if I am wrong, do tell me ):

Paf Minhas ( Kamra )
Paf Rafiqui ( Shorkot )
Paf Masroor ( Karachi )

2- Why were they here ??? Deployment ?? or any exercise or something ????

It is Jacobabad Air Base and the F-16s were there for an exercise. The main focus of the exercise was Close Air Support, though some air to air missions were also flown.

Other than the Mirage-III there was also a PAF F-16 (No. 11 Sqn "Arrows") that participated.

"Griffin", man can you please upload the picture of Paf F-16 that participated too ??? Please do it if you can.
Thanx

I have the pictures but can not upload them as I do not have the permission. May get some images which can be posted in couple of weeks time.
