Ok so i'm here to bother you all again with another mind numbing question. I'm to the point where its time to throw the base colors on this bad boy. And I'm curious as to what shades you all recommend to get the closest to the actual paint.
As of now I'm looking at using Model Master Acrylic colors Neutral Gray for the bottom and Gunship Gray for the top and a Dark Gray for the radome.
Really I'm at a toss up to use the Gunship for the radome too, the dark really isn't all that dark lol. So any suggestions would be great and as soon as i find a place to put some pics up and post them here i will.

Standard F-16 paint scheme:
FS36270 Neutral Gray--radome, forward fuselage around cockpit, vertical tail/rudder, entire underside of aircraft
FS36118 Gunship Gray--upper fuselage dark gray areas
I always use Testors Model Masters enamels and have excellent results with dull overcoats. Acrylics may not react well with overcoats.
The image shows a Shaw AFB a/c, make sure the Gunship Gray extends farther forward and arcs through the canopy frame area. |

| The radome can be any gray you like. Just look at your references, and see which state of gray that particular radome is. There is no set color as every radome weathers differently. |

| I've been using RAF Ocean Gray on my Block 50 WW's. There is a picture out there showing flames on the radome where CC's used a pencil eraser to get rid of the weathering. It's sweet! If I were to try and duplicate it, I would make the flames Dk Ghost with the rest RAF Ocean. I'll post the pic if I can find it, it really shows the color change. You got that pic, Habu? |

Yep! That's it. It's even attached to A 14 FS bird, if the background ship is any indication. Gives me a reason to duplicate it on one of my WW kits! STAY TUNED!  |
