Ok so I know everyone is going to laugh at me and be like why did you buy that one... but anyway I wanted a block 42 and dammit that's what I got haha.

So I bought an Academy 1/32 scale, and while I haven't had a problem with anything assembly wise I just had a question. there is a form line in the canopy that is driving me nuts and I want to blend it out without screwing the thing up. Is there anyway to do this? And how would I go about it?

This isn't my first go when it comes to building models, I just never took this much time to make it look right. And this one is really important since I'm trying to make it look like my Units flagship.

So any help would be appreciated Smile

Oh and if anyone would be able to help me find a way to make tail art decals/watersides/stencils/or whatever to do the tail art you would be my hero for life!!! (It's the 180th FW ANG for those who are wondering ACFT 098)

Scrape the line down with an xacto blade, or sand it off with 600 grit sandpaper. Then go to higher and higher grits...800,1000,1200,2000,3000 etc... If you have micro mesh up to 12000, that works best. Then polish with Tamiya polishing compound, or something similar. And lastly, dip it into a vat of Future, and voi-la!

That it is! Btw, SC Johnson wax has full knowledge of this, and they don't mind it one bit. Just another use for their great product. Another unforeseen use of Future....movie making! The movie industry uses Future to mix with tempra paint to use on sets and vehicles. It extends the product and leaves it easy to remove.

Here's the flagship in 1/48 scale. Haven't seen decals in 1/32 scale.

Looks petty nice there Pop. Where did you source the 131 pod from? Also, any more photos to post of this one?

OK, so where can i get these decals then? I at least know I can get the scale changed on them and make them bigger. Unless someone already offers them as a 1/32nd scale. I thought about having the guys at the base make them up for me, but everything they work with is thick vinyl for aircraft so i don't think they would work to well.

The Kinetic DJ kit of course! The model may have its flaws, but the armament is worth the price!!

Hey proudpop--

Outstanding model of the 180th FW flagship. Just one minor flaw, the block 42 doesn't have the antennae in front of the canopy. Not trying to bash your kicka#@ build, just know this from experience.

I wish I'd been paying attention! I've been modifying so many Hasegawa kits for the Block 50 with the Shull CCIP upgrade that this one fell through the cracks. It is a bunch of work to put that new nose on.

Maybe if I'm lucky they will upgrade this Block 42 and I'll look like a genius!!!

proudpop--

From my insider at the base, 89-2098 just came back from CCIP yesterday, doesn't have the antennae in front of canopy

They must do the IFF without those antennas somehow! Looks like a little grinding job is in order!
