I have another query - I saw a photo of the F22 with drop tanks the other day. Obviously this was a ferry operation but how would this affect its 'low RCS'?

Adversely one would suspect.

How would this affect its combat options?

Like the F16 etc you can drop the tanks but what about the hardpoints?

I'd heard there were systems to eject the rack as well but is this the case here?

Or maybe the F-22 in its stand-off mode would not be compromised.

By way of a thanks, here is a reference to the latest video upload I have popped up on Mediafire which you can download FoC - it is of a Danish AF F16 at Waddo some years ago.

You are correct that the radar signature would be worse. There are not limited to just ferry missions though as shown in this photo of an F-22 intercept of a Russian Bear. Just a thought but they are a good way to hide just how stealthy the F-22 really is.

Like the 15 our tanks come separate from the rack so its two piece and the pilot can elect to jettison both or just the tank. As far as RCS goes don't worry about it Laughing

Thanks for the info - it is as I suspected. I like the point about hanging the bags on to up the RCS and disguise the facts when intercepting Sov spyplanes.
