When I started the Motifake thread, it was partially to help us spread some funny pics around, but also because I think the Motivational Sierra has really run its course in USAF offices. Way overdone, and way over-rated.
Which makes me wonder about this question again:

I miss the old days when the official "USAF Lithograph Series" was more prevalent. Do they still have those?
Also, does anyone know where the older Lithograph Series' can be located, and/or copies purchased?
Any help is greatly appreciated! |

I don't know if you've seen this yet TC but here is the link to the USAF lithos page:
http://www.af.mil/photos/cof_lithos/lithos.html
Apparently:

Past Lithograph Sets (viewing only, prints no longer available)
I have received a specific poster from my PA office before. I'd suggest if you haven't already, check in with your PA and if they don't have some, maybe they know of a source.

| Thanks Scorpion. Unfortunately, the pic I've been looking for is much older, say...'76 or '77, so I'm not sure where I could find another copy. It was a pic of Pops' RF-4 (tail code JO #249) on the boom behind a -135. |

Hey TC,
When I got to Shaw AFB in 1982, we were told that the tail code "JO" for Shaw came from the Wing Commander at one time, whose wife was named Joanne! You can still see JO on one of the tails of the static jets when you come through the front gate. I would be interested to know if this is true or more USAF urban legend. Do you have any inside knowledge?
Best Regards, |

| I have heard the same thing from a guy who was the Deputy Wing Commander for Resource Management back in the day. Although, the way he told the story, it was the MX commander and his daughter. |

Tis true. It was the Wing/CC's wife, but I've always been told that her name was Josephine...and that came from a few different sources.
So, her first name remains slightly mysterious, as does the family name, as I do not know who was commander of the 363rd Tac Recon Wing at the time. |
