I'm not sure what you mean, because no one ever said there would be any parabrake tails in this release. Where did you get that idea?

hmmm...he may be just comparing the Kinetic and Tamiya kits...the Kinetic has two types of parabrake housings (an Israeli and those for the Greek and Polish Block 52s-also for the Turkish Vipers too-that fits well with the Tamiya tail base)... Beer
I plan for a twin tub Viper...can I use the Kinetic upper fuselage and mate it with a Tamiya lower fuselage? Any problems encountered regarding this approach? Confused

It's probably not going to work as Kinetic jacked up the spine profile, exaggerating the hump. If you line up Kinetic's fuselage to Tamiya main upper fuselage, you will encounter a significant mismatch. Lower fuselage mating will also present a problem and they Kinetic LERX is not well represented and is notched differently. You'd be a lot better off grafting a Hasegawa D plug section to the Tamiya upper fuselage section.

Yup! As much as we thought straight copying the Tamiya design would make it fit, it just hasn't been the apparent case. I've found the Hasegawa parts match up much better to Tamiya parts than Kinetic to Tamiya. Take the rear fuse hump from a Hase D that I used to convert a Tamiya kit. It took almost no work, and fit almost perfectly. All it needed was a little but of filler to smooth the transition. I managed the conversion in only a couple of hours. I doubt I'd get that with pilfered Kinetic parts.

Habu, I was talking about the base tail extensions that you find, among others, in chilean F-16C Block50, greek, turkish and others...you now, the one similar to tha A models (belgian, dutch, danish and norwegian Vipers), that kind of extension at the rear end at thje base of the tail....Do you know if Tamioya is going to add that partt???

I know about the parabrake, but you brought it up kind of out of the blue. No, I don't think Tamiya is going to do it, and it's certainly not going to be in this kit.

It seems that Tamiya prefers to US aircraft in US markings. Take the F-15C wherein the only thing to change to make other Eagles of other nations are the decal sheet, they didn't do it. But they'll do it if it concerns with the JASDF as in the case of the 1/32 F-15J and F-4EJ.

That's typically the MO. If they don't have it based in their country, chances are they won't do it. But as far as the biggest user of the type, the US, they've got it well covered.

Started building the Block 30 "AK" of course. Its nice having all the options for later builds. This is definately the kit of choice! Every time I get a new Tamiya kit, the poor Kinetic DJ gets put on the back burner.
