Thoughts? I love you guys and girls "BUT"

Why do you drop pencils?
Why do you not leave the cockpit as you found it when you get in (02 in PPG)?
Why can’t you control. Your earplugs
Why do you leave SMS ON prior to shut down?
Why is the EPU in normal\ when I pin the seats
Why is the canopy switch in AUTO up?
Why don’t you clear your MFLf’s if no degrading?

Pilots leave things that way so that you have something to complain about. The EPU in norm, what's the big deal, you are the one that gets paid to do the 10-30-01 right? it's your fellow maintainers you should get on if they leave things messed up. Now if jonny jet pilot leaves a piddle pack it's time for a realignment. It's your jet your cockpit take care of it.

Yup,

That was a stupid post … Captain Morgan took control of me, and the wife forgot to set the parental controls on the CPU when I get pissed

Sorry

I especially like it when you jump up the ladder and find the seat still in the armed position, or even better when you find a used piddle pack tucked back in the corner by the Flcs panel.

I think the thread has some valid questions? Not in an accusatory way or anything...I have no idea if some or even any of those things listed are in a -1 checklist. I would be curious to see some answers. I'd also be interested to see some similar questions from the flying side of the house. Now all we needs a drunk, pissed off pilot with no parental controls!! Evil or Very Mad

I can't resist..... Devil

How many have the T-shirt that states: "Pilots without maintainers are just pedestrians with cool leather jackets and sunglasses"

Poke

Sorry boys and girls, this love/hate relationship has been around since WWI in some shape or form. A thread on this site will not make it better or worse. It's more of a friendly rivalry than a war.

The whole pilot/maintenance relationship is a sick symbiosis that keeps us ALL gainfully employed and gives us great pride in our work. (Whichever end you happen to be on...)

They break stuff, we fix it, they break it again, we fix it again, etc. One can not exist without the other! (Ying/Yang and all that)

On the other hand; UAVs & UCAVs can fly autonomous but can't fix themselves.... LMAO

Get together with your counterparts when possible and try to share a beer and a laugh about each other's faults. (Airshows, TDYs, Cook-outs, Retirements, etc) You'd be surprised how "the other guy" thinks; and may appreciate him a little more. Cheers

Keep 'em flyin' Thumb

I also can't resist... Wink

Two different times I've had my pilot climb down after flight and tell me the autopilot isn't working.

My reply is always "isn't that why we pay you???" Doh

We get along with most of our pilots and like to have fun. Smile

I'm a little late on this thread.

Is this pissing contest for duration, distance or accuracy?

What do I get if I win?

I like this post because as a former maintenance guy, and current pilot it's cool because you have experienced both sides of the debate. As a maintenance guy you always think, "the stupid pilots have no clue" or "why can't they stop breaking sh*t", etc. Then as a pilot think, "I know the maintenance dudes just pulled a cannon plug off and put it back on and called it good to go" and you can instantly spot the good crew chiefs from the worthless ones. The last comment I have from the pilot side of the house, is that when the jet "breaks" we are usually more pissed about it then you guys because it probably means we couldn't accomplish our sortie to it's full extent or even at all.

I know we sometimes forget stuff, one thing more stupid then others. But it's the exact same the other way around. We'd better touch every single switch during the verify check, cuz there's always something outta place. From Fuel Master Switches in OFF, Alt Flaps in Extend, FLCS test sw in Maint, HUD switches messed up, DED bright turned all the way down, Air Source in OFF. I guess it's just because both sides sometimes forget sh*t, guess what...we're all humans Wink Except our outfits look cooler...
Keep up the good work MX!

I know I've posted this here somewhere before but I feel it is good enough for another. My trainer from the late 70's was in Nam working C-7 Caribou's in TA. They had a Army pilot who must have been a true A$$hole who came thur all the time. Well there is a pilot relief system on the C-7 that works on a venturi system. One day he was in a foul mood and they rotated the the venturi on the outside 180 degrees. When he came back his write up was....."Pilot pissed in piss tube, piss tube pissed on pilot, pilot is pissed off."...

OK, flyboys, can I ask why guy pilots are always so afraid to participate in traditions when a chic crew chief is invovled? The only time I ever got a six pack from a pilot who broke my jet in a stupid way (ie. IFE for not disconnecting from the tanker before breaking away!) was when a chic pilot flew my jet!
