Need some GD old timers help here...

How do you open the weapons bay doors on an FB-111?
Is there a manual release or do you need power? (If we need juice, I think it have to stay shut)

Trying to open the doors on a static airframe.

Thanks
Zane

Never did FB’s but should be the same on all … left side of jet aft of weapons bay doors fwd of speedbrake little panel where you safe the doors. Stick a 3/8th drive speedhandle in receptacle and crank away.

I'll see if I can find a photo when I get home in my trusty F-111E Crew Chief Guide they gave us back in the day.

That looks like the internal bomb bay version of a travel pod. I saw similar items on an F-117 at Nellis in 07 IIRC Smile Just load up your stuff and secure it Wink

I remember trying to Manhandle one of those jokers without any mechanical assistance. (I was really hating life and the load toads that would'nt give up the jammer)
