Anybody know what the tail art is on this RNoAF jet, and where I could find a closer look?

Thanks,

Hi,

Looks like the 332 skvadron squadron badge to me. BTW, first time I have seen a Norwegian Viper with both the 'new' fin flash and squadron markings.

HTH,
Joris

This is in fact the 322 skv badge. A couple of Norwegian's vipers were spotted with these new markings in addition to the FLO flash on the tail. We don't know whether all F-16s will be adorned with these kind of squadron badges in the future or that it will stay with this one-time event. Time will tell.

Greets,

From what I understand and from other forums on IPMS Norway's page, this was a one-time thing in connection with the Fairford air show this year.

Lots of Norwegians - and specially the pilots of the squadrons - miss the old unit ID.

BTW - F-16B 711 carried a similar emblem, but from 331sq during the same airshow.

Reviving an old thread here - #662 from 332sq was seen carrying a similar - if not the same - tail badge during RIAT 2009 this year Applause

The other RNoAF F-16 was 'B' model #305 in the static display. That was wearing a NATO 60th Anniversary zap.

RNoAF F-16BM #305 seen in the static display at RAF Fairford during RIAT 2009 on July 19th, 2009. Note the NATO 60th Anniversary zap on the tail.
