Hello everyone,

My name is Adam and I live in Ontario, Canada. I am here because I would like to build a 1/4th scale RC F16. Am am posting here to get some help for this project. I would love to post my whole idea here, but im sure no one wants to spend 20 minutes reading so ill cut to the chase. I think I have the correct dimensions for a 1/4th block 50 F-16C but if I am wrong, could someone please correct me:

Length: 12.25 ft
Wingspan: 7.75 ft
Height: ~4.2 ft (50.125 inches)

Just to start off that's all I will ask. If anyone has any useful tips for me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

There is a book called "The Modern Viper Guide". it is a detailed picture book for modelers, it might help.

No question, Jake Melampy's book is excellent and shows every detail of the Viper that you could ever need. Jake is one of the very best aviation photographers out there - and is also right here on f-16.net as "JakeMelampy".

I just got the book and am very pleased. One thing that I need that the book doesnt have is dimensions. I apologize if this is anywhere else on the forums, but I searched and couldnt find anything. What are the dimensions for the elevator, width of the wing at the tip and the bottom, max width of the actual airframe (excluding wings and elevators) and tail. Also, what is the area of the inlet (large mouth)?

the dimensions are almost correct only a few details like

span= 7.75 Ft and with tip Mounted = 8.203 Ft
WA = 6.479 sq Ft
AR = 3.09
Length = 12.33 Ft
Height 4.177 Ft
Tail Span 4.578 Ft
Wheel track 1.9375 FT
Wheel base: 3.28125 Ft
Airfoil Section NACA 64A204 (root & tip) The incidence look like -1.5 to 1 degree
Tail i symetrical Naca airfoil section unknown

You will need a lot of juice to lift this baby,.... the weight probably will be close 50 pounds or above.

I hope this data help you in your project

i see some pictures of rc f16 and note the thickness of its wings. it not seems to be the same proportion chord-thickness used in the actual jet. maybe it used for structural reasons in the model and it´s more thicker than the actual jet. somebody know about some certifications standard to build this kind of model or selecting wings for models, standard to certificate the resistance of wings and fuselage in models (see picture).

greets,
pablo
