Quote:
It's brutal hypocrisy. We have young men dying every day in combat who do not get anywhere NEAR the honors after death that a drunk Wing King gets when he offed himself. It's not right
Some of our young men and women do get a rather honorable send off. but that is up to the immediate family as to wether or not they do. I'm a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and we respond to any family who calls for us. Myself and every one who stands on the Flag line do it for one reason only. We do it because we wish to honor those who have given ALL to give us the freedoms we enjoy every day. Many of us are Veterans ourselves, and have served in combat theaters around the globe. It may not seem like much to some, but to the families we touch it is more than they had hoped for. They often thank us for being their, but it is us who are truly, TRULY grateful for the sacrifce of their loved one. And we simply feel the need to honor them in our own special way.
Now I dont mean to be ugly about this, I just felt the need to let some of you know that although its not a funeral fit for a Wing King, it is a funeral fill with HONOR.
Now I'll climb down off my soapbox, And please know that I was not trying to offend anyone here. |
