A commissioned piece from a good friend and Vietnam Thud Driver, vetran of over 100 combat missions with the 333TFS. And I quote, with permission:
"Rolling in on the Village of Viet Tri, the morning fog was lit in just the right way for a split second so that I was able to see every bullet in the sky coming at me. Their vapor trails were leaving shadows in the fog. And it looked like vectors converging on me from every conceivable direction. It was like being in the center of a Koosh-Ball!"
This is a low rez version of a piece where I'm proud to say, you can all but read the dials in the cockpit! |

I just LOVE Thuds- but that picture brings tears to my eyes just thinking about all that they went through. |

The J75 was one big motor... One has to appreciate the binary afterburner! (on/off) |

asiatrails,
I am actually the artist, anyone can PM me if you're interested in a print, I'm working on getting a website up.
Prints are 16x20 on non-glossy photo-paper, very nice looking, right now I'm asking $75 per piece.

That is fantastically well done. I think it is interesting that he is not in afterburner at the time.
I believe this is 375 on the way to Nellis in 1980. It survived. I cropped it from a 3-ship pic the tanker took for us. Great silhouette. In any case Burp's artwork is much better than the picture.
