hmm, could it be the danger of forrest fire?
Great pictures though. I was in the area, but could not attend. Saw two Saab J-39 parked at the east end of the base when my flight landed there Friday before it started. |

| Minimum altitude for a flare drop is what? Above 2000 ft. it would burn out before it would touch the ground. Safety is good, but I'm sure they would be able to make a safe show with a minimum altitude setout for that kind of entertainment. But okay. A good reason... |

Was doin' some sim work at Springfield OH 'bout 10 years ago when they had a Viper accidentally eject 4 or 5 flares while doin' T-n-G's. Guess the driver bumped the button when the power was pushed up.
Hoooo boy! Should've seen the safety folks a steppin' and fetchin'! The driver had to 'splain himself to several higher-ups but I'm not sure if any disciplinary action was taken.
I had a chance to visit Bodo back in early '89. Wicked cold! The absolute farthest north I've ever been. Don't know if they still do it but I've still got my Arctic Circle Club certificate from there. |
